Real Digital Signatures on Android with qPDF Notes 2.2

True Digital Signatures with qPDF Notes

True Digital Signatures with qPDF Notes

Atlanta – April 12, 2012 – Android device users finally have the ability to validate and apply true digital signatures to PDF documents with the new 2.2 release of qPDF Notes, Qoppa Software’s PDF Android app. Also in this release are improved editing of annotations properties, and additional user interface improvements.

qPDF Notes 2.2 is the only Android PDF tool with the ability to apply true digital signatures directly from an Android device. The app allows the user to choose which digital signing certification to use: create self signed certificates, or import digital certificates issued by a certificate authority such as Verisign or Thawte. Digital certificates are PKCS files with a .p12 or .pfx filename extension.

qPDF Notes also enables the digital signature’s appearance to be fully customized by adding a handwritten signature (through a finger gesture) and by overlaying an image such as a company logo.

“Qoppa’s suite of tools to validate and apply electronic signatures on PDF documents is now extended to mobile devices. Our users have been signing documents on Windows, Mac and Linux with our desktop tool PDF Studio for years. They can now sign PDF documents on the go with qPDF Notes.“ says Qoppa President Gerald Holmann.

Qoppa Software also makes these new features available in the latest version of qPDF Toolkit for Android developers to integrate PDF features into their own apps.

qPDF Notes works on all Android phones and tablets 2.1 and higher including: Asus Transformer Prime, Acer Picasso, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Galaxy Note, Motorola XOOM, Toshiba, Lenovo Thinkpad, Kindle Fire, Nook, and devices with custom ROMs. qPDF Notes is also available on Blackberry Playbook 2.

Spring release of Java PDF components and libraries by Qoppa Software adds creation of linearized PDF documents, user interface and API enhancements

Atlanta, GA March 19 2012 – Qoppa Software’s new spring release of Java PDF components and libraries delivers API improvements for easier integration into Java and web applications, along with UI improvements to make the PDF components easier for users to work with.

Key among the features delivered this spring is the ability for Qoppa’s library jPDFProcess to create linearized PDF documents. Linearization allows fast viewing of even large PDF documents over the web because pages of linearized documents are made accessible without the need for downloading the entire file.

With the new release, programmers gain further control when integrating the PDF libraries into applications. The revised API now supports adding PDF content to a specific layer, creating rotated rubber stamps, and adds a convenience method to overlay a watermark on top of PDF documents when viewing and printing. Moreover, Qoppa’s team has made licensing easier by simplifying the process of requesting, validating and setting license keys.

This release also adds many improvements to Qoppa’s visual PDF components such as a new invert colors mode and enhancements around interactive PDF forms, including support for Submit and Reset buttons and even better editing of interactive form fields data.

Gerald Holmann, President, says “Qoppa’s spring release of our Java PDF library products is all about continuing to deliver easy to use, powerful PDF products. Our PDF technology makes it easy for developers to confidently PDF-enable their own applications, while remaining focused on their business logic.”

Qoppa Software Announces PDF Studio 7, Cross-platform PDF editor, with Content Editing and Enhanced User Interface

December 20, 2011 – Qoppa Software, a leading producer of PDF software, announces a major new release of PDF Studio, their powerful, easy to use, cross-platform PDF editor.  PDF Studio 7 augments the collaboration power of PDF with new content editing capabilities, enhanced user interface, new PDF viewing options and additional PDF functionality.

“This release takes PDF Studio to the next level!  PDF Studio 7 is a full featured PDF editor, comparable to the best editors on the market but at less than a third of the price.  When you consider that PDF Studio is also cross-platform, this makes it the best choice for enterprise deployments.” says Gerald Holmann, Qoppa Software President.

PDF Studio 7 Pro lets users edit the content and manipulate the objects in a PDF document.  Users can make small modifications such as correcting typos and misspellings, changing font properties or rearranging images before final publishing.  The new Edit Content tool works with single or multiple objects, including text, images, or path objects.

Redaction, removing text from a PDF document and replacing its location with a black rectangle, is a newly available function in PDF Studio 7.  Redaction is relied on by professionals in many industries to protect confidential information within PDF documents.

PDF Studio 7 offers an improved user interface.  Users can now choose their favorite Look And Feel for the application and customize the toolbars to suit the way they work.  Professionals who need to examine small details in a PDF document will be glad for the new Loupe Tool and the ability to do a side by side comparison of two versions of a PDF with the sophisticated “double loupe tool”.

Users working on small screens, in a dark room, on an airplane, or at night, will love the new PDF Studio 7 function to invert colors when rendering a PDF document.  For typical documents, the display will change from “Black on White” to “White on Black”.

Responding to user needs, Qoppa has added the ability to email PDF documents directly from the tool.  Users may collaborate electronically and efficiently by easily sending individual PDF documents from within PDF Studio.  Those enrolled in online fax services (such as myfax.com or efax.com) will now be able to fax directly from the tool.

Conversion to PDF from Word files, image files, and text files can be done individually or in a batch.  Word to PDF conversion was enhanced in this release to include support for the latest Word format (.doc or .docx).

Summer release of Java PDF components and libraries adds loupe tool in web components and gives developers more control

Qoppa Software, a leading provider of portable PDF solutions, reveals the summer release of their newly enhanced PDF libraries and components.

Key among the features delivered this summer is the loupe tool for both of Qoppa’s visual components to be used in Java and web applications. jPDFViewer is Qoppa’s Java component to render PDF documents. Qoppa Software Exhibits at JavaOne 2011

Qoppa Software is making final preparations to exhibit at JavaOne 2011 in San Francisco October 2-6.   Qoppa selected JavaOne as its first major exhibition because the 10 year old software company chooses to deliver only 100% Java code to its worldwide customer base that crosses industry boundaries.  This year’s introduction of the 100% Android Java product line underscores that commitment to delivering portable PDF code.

Qoppa’s booth (#5107) will offer live demonstrations of the PDF manipulation capabilities it delivers in class libraries, web components, desktop applications, information flow servers, and mobile devices.  Java developers will be able to directly discuss potential development and deployment scenarios with Gerald Holmann, president and founder of Qoppa Software.

“Friends of Qoppa” (existing and potential customers and partners) may claim one of Qoppa’s Discover Passes to Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne.  This pass will authorize Qoppa’s friend to access the Exhibition Halls at both events, and to participate in these activities:

  • Keynote sessions
  • Executive Solutions sessions
  • “It’s a Wrap!” final party

Qoppa Software’s booth #5107 is located in the Java Exhibition Hall (Continental Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel).
